WALTER SURFACE TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES NEW INNOVATIONS FOR FABTECH 2016 IN LAS VEGAS – BOOTH N2704

November 10th, 2016

Walter Surface Technologies, the global industry leader in surface treatment technologies, is pleased to announce that it will once again be exhibiting at the FABTECH Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, from November 16-18, 2016. Companies looking to improve quality and increase productivity in the workplace are invited to visit the Walter booth at N2704.

For over 60 years, Walter has been consistently developing better performing, leading-edge products for the metalworking industry. The innovative solutions being displayed at this year’s event underscore Walter’s underlying commitment to help fabricators meet the ever-changing needs of the industry and their customers. Here are some of the cutting-edge products that will be on display at the Walter booth.

“The addition of these new parts washing systems is yet another testament to Bio-Circle’s mission of “Making Green Work” by creating products that help our customers work better and safer,” said Patrick Lapointe, Vice-President of Research and Development, at Walter Surface Technologies. “These new systems, paired with our CB 100 line of aqueous cleaning solutions, help improve the health and safety of workers by minimizing dangerous chemicals. Companies can reduce their consumption costs, and eliminate the need for expensive, hazardous waste removal and ventilation equipment associated with using toxic solvents”.

Zip Wheel™
This year, Walter’s focus will revolve around the recently redesigned, award-winning Zip Wheel™ abrasive disc. The new Zip Wheel™ has been re-engineered from the ground up, offering even higher efficiency and better performance than its predecessor, making it the top cut-off wheel in its class. Through live demonstrations during FABTECH, attendees will experience the power of the Zip Wheel™ that offers faster, cooler, freer cutting, while resisting twisting and bending.

Surfox™
Walter will be displaying two redesigned Surfox weld cleaning systems, available as of January 2017 – the Surfox™ 205 and the Mini Surfox™. The new Surfox™ 205 uses an electrochemical process to clean and passivate TIG and spot welds on stainless steel or aluminum. This sleek, powerful machine replaces time-consuming manual operations such as using wire brushes or extremely hazardous solutions like pickling pastes, allowing operators to work faster and safer while taking time and cost out of the job.

Like the Surfox™ 205, the redesigned Mini Surfox™ has been engineered to allow operators to clean TIG or spot welds on aluminum as well as stainless steel. This unit features a compact, lightweight design that makes it ideal for field work such as equipment repairs, installation or touch-up work.

E-Weld Plasma™
Walter will be showcasing its latest innovation, the E-WELD Plasma, a ceramic anti-spatter solution that is applied to laser and plasma cutting tables to reduce the buildup of slag. By using a new arm-mounted applicator, users can quickly and easily coat large surface areas. This simple preventative measure significantly decreases the amount of time needed to clean slag off cutting tables, which translates into significant cost savings for fabricators.

FABTECH attendees will experience Walter’s demo stations and product displays in its 1,000 square foot booth and have the opportunity to meet our team of application experts. Metalworking professionals can also learn about Walter’s Partnership in Productivity customer programs dedicated to safety, productivity and cost savings. We hope to see you there.
